5 things you can’t live without?

What are your plans for 2015?
Touring Canada in February, SXSW in March, Mexico in July.
Most memorable moment of your career thus far?
Can’t decide between touring Canada with The Herbaliser in 2008, opening for The Roots at Cutting Edge Festival (Kitchener) in 2009, or opening for De La Soul at Beer Fest (Toronto) in 2013.
What would you be doing if you weren’t doing this?
If I was still in high school, pursue a career playing basketball. Nowadays, maybe a basketball analyst / journalist… and if I was better trained at it, a day trader. Maybe even a philosophical essayist one day.
What advice do you have for people who want to get to where you are?
With music these days, you need to do many things and have as many “jobs” as possible. Never listen to the people who try to tell you to do something ‘more stable’ or ‘more reliable.’ Never stop and never give up, the hurdles are endless. Let your actions speak louder than your words. Show people what you can do. Never stop being creative. Know people, meet people and introduce yourself to anyone that you could help, and anyone that could help you.
Industry shoutout – who does it go to?
My dudes in GA, Pirate / Hook Music – the great companies I work for, and Clutch PR – for always putting me on 🙂
