Penpals is a column where our friends in the media write us a letter and fill in some blanks. Today’s penpal is Sabrina Maddeaux, a fashion and design writer at NOW Magazine.

Dear Clutch,
In the beginning I wanted to be a first amendment lawyer. But then I deferred my law school acceptance and became a fashion writer.
If I had to choose between Crème Eggs and Mini Eggs I’d choose Mini Eggs.
My favourite thing about my job is getting to support local creatives and spark interesting discussions. But sometimes it can get a little discouraging. When I need to cool down I watch Netflix.
Print is still very much alive. Social media is often deceptive.
At night I dream about things I’ll save for my inevitable tell-all personal essay. Right now I’m loving backpacks and baseball caps.
My favourite yoga position is none of them.
PR professionals make me realize that I could not do what they do. I wish they would stop calling me to re-read press releases they’ve already sent.
Before I go, I want you to know that I mean well (most of the time).
blue skies,
Sabrina
