Happy May long weekend! If you’re not packing up and heading out of the city, don’t fret. We have a list of fun things you and your pals can do this May 2-4.
Friday, May 16, 2014 – Party like it’s 1999
Yes Yes Y’all’s Spring-a-ling-a-ling (best name ever) is saving you from a weekend of cottage envy with a night of hip hop, dancehall, R&B and inevitably, lots and lots of sweat (make sure you keep it fresh). Prepare to party all night long to the beats of DJ Lissa Monet at CODA (794 Bathurst St.), tickets are only $6 before midnight.
Recover from your night of fun and break out of your shell at the Toronto Zoo (361A Old Finch Ave). While you’re checking out all the beautiful creatures from near and far, waltz over to the Turtle exhibition (on from Saturday – Monday). Don’t forget to check out the adorable giant pandas. Even Prime Minister Harper can’t resist. General admission is $28
Sunday, May 18, 2014 – Watch some fireworks on Wonder Mountain
Spend your Sunday whipping around Canada’s Wonderland (9580 Jane St). From The Leviathan to the Carousel there’s a ride for everyone. After you’ve gotten your fill of whiplash, relax with a drink on Wonder Mountain and take in the lovely fireworks display. The show starts at 10:00 pm and is included with park admission ($50 at the door).
Monday, May 19, 2014 – Grab a beer with your buds
Monday is supposed to be sunny with a high of +20°C. Why not take advantage of the great weather and grab lunch and a beer with your pals. Our recommendation? Check out Bier Markt (various locations) for a large selection of beer, great food and a large patio.
For the weekend worker
Stuck working this long weekend? Take a load off and check out The Beverley Hotel‘s (335 Queen St W) gorgeous rooftop patio complete with a brand new food and cocktail menu. Pop in for afterwork drinks or a quick power lunch. Trust us, The Bev will become your favourite after work spot in the blink of an eye.
