Happy Mani Monday, nail fiends.
We love using Shellac for tricky nail art because we can layer easily without fear of a big gunky mess. That’s precisely what we did with this jewel toned ombre nail.
After painting and curing two coated of base colour we dropped some deep purple onto a plastic sheet and dabbed at it with a sponge. To create this ombre you very gently pat the sponge down your nail, being more heavy handed at the tip and lightening your touch towards the base of your nail. Cure or let dry if using regular polish then repeat on tips to ensure the colour is deepest there.
The fun texture added by the sponge makes it look almost like spray paint at the base. You can see it the most clearly on our accent nails.
