People often ask PRs, entrepreneurs, working men and women of all types, ‘How do you juggle it all?” “How do you do everything?”
The truth is we don’t do it all. We do what we can and reserve the rest for ourselves, our friends and our families.
We strive for some of that elusive ‘balance’ and that’s why this blog was born and this section was born. In Namaste B*tches you’ll read about yoga, wellness, the occasional recipe and about all kinds of stuff that helps us find our zen.
We love writing and sometimes it’s nice to write about things other than what occupies our daily lives.
Our president Daniela Syrovy got her yoga teacher training because she loves yoga and because it’s a way to take time out just for her. A time to focus inwards and be in the present. When you’re the type of person who has a tonne of computer tabs open at all times it’s important to shut off and surrender to nothing but your body.
Whether it’s yoga, cooking, reading, drawing, playing with your dog, painting with your kids – make sure you remember to take time for yourself.
Try to take 15 minutes each day and work your way up to 60 minutes if you can.
Here are some tips for taking time for yourself:
1. Work it into your regular routine
2. Make no excuses
3. Love what you do in your YOU time
4. Make sure your family, co-workers and friends know that from x time to X time your unavailable
5. Turn off your electronic devices
6. Breathe
