How to give yourself good head…mas
A good head massage releases tension in the forehead and scalp areas while stimulating all your mental functions. On days when you feel you’re not firing on all cylinders try to give yourself a head or scalp massage. It only takes a minute or two to help get your blood circulating. Plus, spreading the natural oils of your scalp while you massage yourself helps keep your hair shiny and fabulous.
Here are three techniques we love. You can do them anytime and anywhere.
Sit in a comfortable chair. Place your thumbs on each of your temples and align all your fingers into the imaginary middle line of your forehead. Now push and pulse your fingers, gently kneading your forehead like you’d knead dough. Repeat this process while moving your thumbs behind your ears, then along the back of your head until you’ve worked your entire scalp. Remember to use your finger tips not your fingernails. Keep your fingers in the centre line of your scalp.
Place a yoga mat or a towel on the floor or just do it directly on the floor if you’re not afraid of a little dirt. Position yourself in Table Top pose with your wrists stacked under your shoulders and your knees stacked under your hips. Lean forward gently and place the crown of your head on the floor. Gently begin making circles with the top of your head as if there was an imaginary paintbrush on your head and you were creating a circular painting. Move in one direction then the opposite direction. Try drawing figure eights with the crown of your head. Then move your head from side to side and aim to get your temples on the ground. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Just allow all parts of your head, forehead, temples and even face to smush against the floor.
3) Eye socket massage

After a bit of practice you will be a master of self massage. If all else fails get yourself one of these. You will not regret it.
