You’ve got the day off tomorrow right? So why not spend some time with your friends celebrating our wonderful country. Here’s some fun things you can do on this hot and muggy (with a chance of thunderstorms) Canada Day.
1. Go see a burst of colour explode in the sky
For the second year, the night sky will be filled with fireworks on June 30. Harbourfront centre is presenting a spectacular 20 minute firework display set to music on Toronto’s central harbourfront.
2. Suntan, drink and play beach volleyball
Ashbridges bay beach (1675 Lake Shore Blvd E) is the perfect spot to play a friendly game of beach volleyball while getting your tan on.
3. Go camping at a provincial park
Do like our fearless leader Daniela Syrovy did and take the fam (or friends) out to a provincial park and enjoy the silence and beauty of nature.
4. Party on a boat
Cruise around the inner harbour while sucking back some Canadian inspired cocktails. Really, what sounds better than that? Just don’t drink too much. Lifejackets aren’t cute and we wouldn’t want anyone to fall off.
5. Screw cold beer, grab a polar beer with your buds

Because who doesn’t crave ice cold beer on a super sweaty day? We sure do, and that’s why we’re currently loving Polar beer. It’s a frozen version of draught that’s popular in Japan. These awesome beers are served colder than usual and are topped with frozen foam. You can find these special items at Don Don Izakaya (130 Dundas St W), Nome Izakaya (4848 Yonge St), Kintaro Izakaya (459 Church St) and Tsuki Izakaya (5182 Yonge St).
