Is there anything better when the weather is a chronic disappointment (smarten up, Mother Nature) than imagining yourself mowing down on a juicy burger, bathing in the sunlight?
No, we didn’t think so. It’s because of this we’ve decided to bring fatties everywhere a very important piece of information. Burger Day is June 1.
The event previously held at Wychwood Barnes has moved to a larger venue this year. The move to spacious Fort York (250 Fort York Blvd) will make it easier to keep your burger drippings off your friends’ flip flops. But enough about the location. Let’s talk about some drool worthy options we’re hoping to see come back to or debut at Burger Day.
Here’s our Burger Day fantasy list:

1. The P&L Burger (507 Queen St W)
If you work anywhere around Queen West (we do) you’ve eaten at Parts & Labour’s newest baby. Their delicious burgers and fantastic toppings make us so happy on days when you just need a big, dirty lunch. This would be their first Burger Day.

Hogtown Vegan via Post City
2. Hogtown Vegan (834 Bloor St W)
It’s going to be vegan, not healthy. We’re betting on something deep fried.

Burgernator via Post City
3. The Burgernator (269 Augusta Ave)
#marinatheintern cannot stop talking about this place. We believe you, Marina. We believe you.

Stockyards via Toronto Life
4. The Stockyards (699 St. Claire Ave W)
Famous for their fried chicken, at Burger Day 2013 these guys served a chicken fried burger. That’s right.
A few Burger Day survival tips:
1. Don’t waste space on sides. Enjoy the all you can eat-ness.2. Stay hydrated. It’s hot and there is no shortage of salt happening in your mouth.
3. Be comfy and prepared to get dirty. Last year it was rainy and some areas resembled a mosh pit.

Burger Day arrives after a week long celebration of meaty goodness across Toronto May 28-31. Sample special burgers all week to work up to the big event.
A burger a day keeps life meaty and delicious.
