ABC recently released its fall lineup and everyone’s buzzing about the network’s diverse slate of comedies for the 2014-15 season. Some of the buzz hasn’t been the most positive, though. Here are three new comedies ABC is receiving criticism for. What do you think?
1. Black-ish
“Black-ish” follows The Johnson family who live in an affluent, mostly-white neighbourhood and their struggle between their fathers idea of black culture and the culture of their children’s classmates.
2. Fresh Off the Boat
“Fresh Off the Boat” is loosely based on the life of chef and food personality Eddie Huang and his book Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir. The show follows the Huang family as they make their way from Washington, DC to Orlando, Florida to open up a steak restaurant during the 90s.
3. Cristela
“Cristela” will chronicle the life of a Mexican-American law school graduate who wants to live the American Dream and must start by working as an unpaid intern at a law firm.
So what do you think? Do ABC’s new comedies have the potential to give you a laugh or are they off kilter? We’re looking forward to your comments.
